Developed to replace the un-powered armor used by the post-human dragons in the First Gene Corp War, Powered Dragon Combat Armor or PDCA is a kit of multi-piece powered combat armor originally designed to protect dragons, both post-human and natural, from small arms fire, shrapnel, and NBC(Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) threats along with providing them with enhanced capabilities in combat including improved communications and command and control, smoke dischargers to create smoke screens for themselves and supporting forces, HUDs to help increase their situational awareness, and even plasma blades to increase their lethality in close-quarters combat although the latter is rarely ever used in combat and recently the kits worn by the post-human dragons of Task Force Therian have been upgraded to include shield generators and cloaking devices to enhance survability when going up against hostile forces equipped with high-velocity heavy weapons such as tanks and artillery which can still kill a dragon wearing a PDCA kit with a direct hit through the force of the round hitting them. The electronics inside the armor are also designed to be immune to EMP weaponry.

Similar to translation collars, PDCA kits are also made to fit each dragon species that wears it with the kits worn by Monstrous Nightmares designed to cover itself with it's wearers flammable slavia to permit the use of the fire jacket while the kits worn by Skrills come equipped with power generators that feed their wearers with an infinite supply of electricity to charge up their attacks with while the kits can be also specialized to fulfill certain battlefield roles including electronic warfare, intelligence gathering, evacuating wounded soldiers from the battlefield, or enhanced communication capabilities.

  • It has been noticed by Valka that PDCA kits give their wearers barely any room to breathe and that little thought was given to the wearer's general comfort.
  • PDCA kits require a translation collar to function.
