Appearance[]

The blindness of ones eyes or the color of one's scales does not tell their personality. A Deaf Dragon could enjoy war and blood, a dragon with scars on their face could love being with other dragons and avoids violence.

Tonnere is a deep blue around his main body parts (legs, head, and tail). His wing membranes, spikes, and claws are all a kind of light blue. His eyes are also unnaturally turquoise in color, with no signs of pupils anywhere.. He has a small overbite and his claws are kind of crooked. His fangs usually stick out of his mouth they are mostly pure white. He is a healthy, young adult Skrill.

Personality[]

Tonnere doesn't have allies or enemies really. In his eyes everyone is linked together and through all those scales and skin, deep down to the core everyone deals with the same insecurities and problem. He understood this through the struggles and difficulties he had as a child, as he took note of all the worries the dragons around him had.

He is quite calm around most dragons no matter how evil or friendly that are, understanding that showing much negativity in his tone could give a sense of worry or pride to others. He wishes to treat others exactly how he desires to be treated, and so regardless of the insults or threats thrown at him he responds with politeness and utmost kindness in ways some might find absurd. Tonnere isn't stupid however and knows quite easily when others try to take advantage of his nature.

Tonnere can get quite serious and will fight if he is forced to or his friends are in danger. He ignores any insults or taunts from other dragons seeing them as useless words that only seek to draw out his anger, something he desires to keep to himself.

He enjoys being alone with the nature around him. Being blind he relies on most of his other senses, meaning they are extremely sharp and its difficult for him to ever find quietness being overwhelmed by all the loud sounds and overpowering scents he senses. For this reason he prefers to perch on the highest peaks he can find, away from any smells or sounds to simply enjoy himself or quarrel with his thoughts.

Tonnere believes people should do things peacefully, believing that violence can be a valuable tool for life, yet an unlikely item to ever have to use. He believes that the stubbornness and pride of ones heart will be the only reason that you should engage in combat. Otherwise he tries to settle conflicts peacefully, something that usually is in conflict with all the Milneys and Soteria's beliefs.

The one thing that breaks Tonnere peaceful personality is when he gets possessed. While he tries his best to ignore all the worries and problems that pass through his heart and mind, one thing Tonnere feels sensitivity about is the Watchers capabilities of possessing him. He blames himself for having a weak mind that is capable of falling to such things, thinking of himself as a monster for allowing it.

Tonnere connects well to dragons and humans that also have disabilities like himself, understanding that they are going through and suffering through similar things to what he is going through. He does not patronize them but instead treats them as equals, calmly attempting to help and assist them with whatever they need assistance in, in hopes of showing them that beings with disabilities are not burdens to society and can achieve just as much a person without disabilities could.

Personalizing people is uncommon for Tonnere, as most of the time he simply refers to someone by their gender, species, status or personal opinion about them. For a few examples, he refers to Everest as "Alpha", he calls Spirit "Boy", refers to Flashsting as "Hybrid" and East as "Love". He does not call them by their real name out of rudeness but simply because he believes it is more respectful to refer to one as a title. However in worrying or sympathetic situations he may refer to them by their actual names on occasions.

Its well known to many who have met Tonnere that he is a gifted in the power of empathy. Whenever dragons are near him, Tonnere claims that he can almost feel a fizzle of energy from their hearts, this "fizzle" can be bright and ecstatic if the person is happy, sparking and violent if the person is angry, or quite and fizzled out if they are sad. From this Tonnere is able to detect the persons emotions and almost read them by simply being near them.

History[]

When Tonnere was born his parents hated him for being blind, being a helpless dragonet that couldn't hunt or fight. After a year his parents decided that they wanted to abandon him and care for their other young instead. However Tonnere's siblings refused to let their brother die and ran away with him that very night. Tonnere with the help of his brother and sister, learned how to fight off his opponents and catch prey by using his other senses. Yet one day when they were all five, The Watcher from the Milneys attacked them and killed his siblings.

Afraid, Tonnere attempted to run. Once he landed to rest, he had a vision of multiple eyes spiraling around him, all with blood for tears. Tonnere did not know what was happening. And he soon found that he could no longer control his body, for about ten minutes Tonnere destroyed villages and dragons nests. Finally, he could control his body once more, he ran and hid in a nearby cave, afraid that he'd harm others.

But he was found by Team Soteria, a group of dragons who were looking for the same group of Speed Stingers that Watcher was in. Realizing Watcher was connected to his uncontrolled destruction, Tonnere without doubt offered to join them. Hoping that one day he would avenge his siblings deaths.

After the defeat of the Milneys, Tonnere departed from Team Soteria and lived the rest of his life on a secluded, peaceful island, far away from all chaos and dangers in the world and having only East and the beauties of nature to keep him company.

Abilities[]

Skrill Powers[]

Tonnere like all Skrills can absorb and shoot lightning from his mouth, project an electric force field to defend himself from any attacks, and ride lightning strikes.

Senses[]

Excluding his sight, Tonnere's senses are off the charts, he can smell and hear things extremely well, and can hear the footsteps of every single little ant nearby within twelve feet! Tonnere also is able to tell if others are in pain and can tell how they are feeling inside. He also has the ability to become completely aware of a dragons past simply by just standing near them.

Speed and Agility[]

Tonnere despite being blind is quite fast, especially if he is riding lightning, he has nearly the same speed as a Night Fury, his deep blue appearance makes it easy for him to blend in with the ocean, rivers, and other large bodies of water easily. Tonnere enjoys flying despite his disability and has been known to catch birds midflight for his dinner

Prophetic Powers[]

Tonnere can have special dreams or visions that are used to show him prophecies and what is happening around him. Throughout his years Tonnere has memorized the symbols he sees and is able to identify what is coming. Tonnere can sometimes tell the future based on signs from dragons dreams. Its unknown how he learned this but it can be quite useful.

Immunity[]

Tonnere like all Skrills is extremely resistant to the cold and can survive in a chunk of ice for years without dying he is immune to eel poison and will eat eels happily if offered to him.

Intelligence[]

Tonnere is very wise for his age, giving out words of wisdom and encouragement to his teammates. Despite being blind and unable to read, Tonnere still knows a lot about the world thanks to the help of his siblings.

Teaching[]

Tonnere is a very good teacher, he knows how to teach others how to be patient, rely on other senses, how to identify medical plants and calm your thoughts in the middle of an intense situation.

Strength[]

Tonnere is a decent fighter in combat, being able to fight off a single speed stinger without much need of help. Tonnere is also skilled at climbing cliffs and even climbing upside down.

Durability[]

Tonnere was used to being pushed around as a hatchling by his parents, he defended his siblings with his life when Watcher attacked but failed tremendously. Yet is still willing to jump in front of a brutal attack to save others wether they are good or not.

Relationships[]

Strikemare[]

Tonnere loved his mother despite her not doing the same, he understood that Strikemare wanted to leave him because she believed it was impossible for a blind dragon to possibly live in a cruel world like this and while she was very much wrong, Tonnere never bothered to prove her wrong (he was well aware that his mother was a stubborn dragon and there was no way to convince her otherwise). Later in his adulthood when he reencountered his mother, he refused to fight her when she challenged him and ended up saving her life when an avalanche collapsed on her.

Siblings[]

Tonnere had a very close relationship with his siblings, they taught him everything he should know, Tonnere spent most of his life living with them, upon their deaths Tonnere mourned for them and still grieves for their deaths till this day.

Team Soteria[]

Tonnere is as loyal to the pack as he was loyal to his siblings. He shares his food with them and offers easier and better ideas to do when needed. He is even willing to sacrifice his life for them if they are close to dying. Whenever someone is discouraged on the team Tonnere is always there to make them feel better. While the pack may not understand his ways sometimes he is always willing to stand by there side. Even after leaving them Tonnere still has them on his mind on a daily basis, hoping that wherever they are they would be safe and sound.

The Milneys []

Despite being the enemy, Tonnere is peaceful to the evil pack of speed stingers, telling them that they should make peace, sympathetically trying to comfort them about their past (which usually ends in them snapping at him) and even stopping Team Soteria from killing them. Tonnere understands that most of them are suffering or forced to join and therefore believes that there

The Watcher[]

The Watcher is the only Milney Tonnere is not passive to, he takes extreme caution of speed stinger, knowing very well how intense, dangerous, and unnegotiable he is. He dislikes Watchers misrepresentation of him, portraying him as a monster and killing his siblings, Watcher is the one dragon Tonerre is willing to fight against-knowing very well how unredeemable he is.

Apollo []

Tonnere doesn't seem to mind the nadders smug personality sometimes commenting on the Nadders looks just to get Apollo to talk about himself. "I'd rather be with a dragon who's heart filled with glory then an empty one, dry with darkness." he said once.

Sorrow[]

Tonnere enjoys the calm personality of Sorrow and enjoys her company, he finds her very interesting to talk to.

East[]

Tonnere is very careful with East, his relationship shows exactly which side he is on, neither, Tonnerre admired Easts willingness to listen to his words, and willingly protects her from the Milneys and Soteria whatever the cost. East is one of the few dragons that actually understands Tonnere in every way, no matter how he speaks or acts. Their relationship is in fact strong enough to be able to break the Watchers possession spell. After the Milneys fell the two freely lived together on a secluded island, eventually becoming mates.

Spirit[]

The goofy, innocent, and oblivious nature of Spirit is amusing to Tonnere, it reminds him of his siblings in a way. Despite how loud and chaotic Spirit is in contrast to Tonneres peaceful and patient manner, the Skrill takes enjoyment in Spirit and cares for him when the rest of the team can't handle his insanity.

Weakness[]

Blindness[]

Tonneres blindness makes him unable to see very well. He is not a decent fighter in combat because of this and fails to catch prey more often then a normal dragon. He also lacks the ability to read and has to have words read for him or translated into an alphabet he is capable of reading in order to understand it.

Possessed[]

Tonnere, as strong as he is in willpower, canot stand up to the powerful force of such a dragon as Watcher. Being able to possess him once and awhile, Tonnere is all of a sudden turned into a dragon of destruction and blood thirst, being a large dragon he can easily overpower his friends with little effort, proving to be a deadly weapon. Tonnere loathes this as it goes against his moral code to never commit harm on the innocent.

Disabling Lightning[]

Like all Skrill's Tonnere cannot use his electric powers in the water and disabling one of their spikes also could disable the ability for him to channel lightning.

Tonnere's Words of Wisdom[]

There is no law of nature that says ones that lack sight are weaker, nor does it say a dragon with sight are powerful, all creatures alike are equal in their own ways, so don't underestimate ones capabilities by what are their incapability's. -Tonnere to dragons who judge him based on his lack of sight.

Anger is like a sword, sharp and used to fight, fury is the blade, built for cutting into an enemies and hurting them as much as possible, your heart and mind are the handle, and as the handle, they choose whether to strike out at yoru enemies and bring pain or withdraw the blade and settle for a peaceful option. -Tonnere on anger.

Love is a strange feeling, like a temptation for something, like a dragon or perhaps in your case-corn. Temptation in ways however, can be deadly, love can lead to rejection, rejection can lead to grief, grief can lead to anger, and anger leads to violence. Love is a bird, you have to wait for the right moment to strike. Sadness, one of the most powerful emotions we can have, while it may seem our fury is stronger, our sorrow is the reason why it happens. Most dragons refuse to wear their sadness like a mask, and respond with anger, and that is a dangerous choice, keeping your sorrows and worries bottled up, its sharpening angers blade, and while you may believe this newly sharpened blade of yours won't strike at all, sooner or latter those emotions you bottled up will release, and your nice, sharp sword will cut a relationship into pieces with a single strike. Because of this, its wise to not sharpen the blade, sheathe it, and express your worries to those your trust as its better to tell those how you feel in the moment and keep your blade dull then instead holding it in, where sooner or later your bound to cause a wound that cannot be mended.- Tonnere on sadness

If the moment you born you open your eyes and all you see is darkness, you are blind, but not afraid. Many see lack of sight being a disability, a weakness, but being able to hear, smell, and feel things but not being able to see them allows you to imagine what they look like. Blindness is almost like, an invitation to creativity, imagine what things looked like if you can't picture then yourself. -Tonnerre on Blindness

Fear is one of the hardest emotions to control. As soon as you see something you fear you instantly forget everything and your emotions run wild like a flock of sheep do when they spot a Red Death. Its hard to control your fears, its like trying to make a dog sit without using your hands or mouth to provide commands. But fear has a cousin, that can teach you what to do, which is called 'mistakes', when you make them, you make sure to never do them again, the more you encounter it, the easier it is to conquer, this is the most effective way to take down your fear, the best thing to do is facing them several times, it may be terrifying at first, but trust me, a little seed of bravery is planted within every fear you just have to water it and soon fear will be all gone and replaced with bravery.-Tonnerre

Trivia[]

Tonnere's name is close to the word "Tonnerre" which is french for thunder.
His original design was a Flightmare-Skrill hybrid, however this was scrapped in place of him simply being a skrill.
He originally had a love interest with Hestia (Permission by Hicctooth ).
His Theme Song is "Armor" by Landon Austin.
Tiresias is similar to Tonnere in multiple ways, they were both prophets and both were blind.
Despite being blind, Tonnere somehow knows all the constellations in the sky and can identify which planets and constellations can be currently seen in the sky. How this is possible is unknown. Only Tonnere himself knows but when asked he only responds with a smile and says "The gift of darkness can bring wonderful blessings."
Tonnere was partially based off the character of Yoda from Star Wars and Jesus Christ from biblical Christianity (yes those are two very strange combos).
Its a possibility that Tonnere follows some form of draconic Christianity.
His favorite meal is salmon heavily sprinkled with bitter herbs.
He also has a rather liking of tea, however finding such things is rare and usually is a pleasant treat, only being able to take it in at the offering of a human.
He has a strange large pattern laced across his back where several scales seem pressed down into his body, he usually denies it or changes the subject when it is mentioned.
He considers both human children and dragon hatchlings as "An Example of What We Should Act Like" likely speaking about children's innocence.
Tonnere admires and enjoys children, however he usually struggles with the process caring for one due to his lack of sight and the overwhelming amount of energy they posses.
